The underlying mission of the company is to support the Operational Programme "Digital Convergence" (OP DC) of the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2007-2013 in the achievement of its strategic objectives. These objectives are:
a) Enhanced business productivity through the use of ICT, and
b) Improved Quality of Life through the use of ICT
The objective "Enhanced business productivity through the use of ICT" (a) is further broken-down into six main directions, including:
- Business Productivity
- Increase the ICT uptake by businesses
- Provision of integrated digital services to businesses
- Support the ICT sector as a pillar of the Greek economy
- Support the entrepreneurial activity in ICT-enabled ventures
The objective "Improved Quality of Life through the use of ICT" (b) is further broken-down into the following directions:
- Improving citizen welfare through the use of ICT
- Developing e-services for the citizen
One of the main pillars of Digital Aid is to act as an efficient administrator of the national & EU funds earmarked to promote ICT to businesses and citizens through state aid projects. Digital Aid aims to become a reliable cog within the wider system of aid projects involving the dissemination of ICT towards achieving the digital convergence of Greece with the EU.
To achieve its objectives, the company:
- Produces studies to implement operational plans, action plans and organizational structures for the management of projects within the OP DC
- Undertakes and/or supervises the administration and monitoring of the implementation of physical and financial scope of the projects implemented under OP DC
- Supports intermediaries in the production line of the projects implemented within the framework of the OP DC
- Collaborates with other institutions mainly to evaluate the progress of projects, and the quality of their deliverables
- Organizes and/or participates in research, technical and educational or other programs, conferences, etc. in order to disseminate the results of supervised projects.
